The next generation of legal assistance
ABOUT US
Our Philosophy
Legal problems rarely arise in isolation. They emerge within relationships — between individuals, businesses, employers and employees, tenants and landlords, or between citizens and public authorities.
When those relationships become uncertain or unstable, people often experience the legal system as confusing, reactive, or difficult to navigate.
Our Purpose
Aequitas exists to help customers understand and use the legal system in a structured and constructive way. Our goal is to allow individuals and organizations to understand and leverage the legal advantages available to them in order to promote, maintain, and defend the stability of their legal relationships.

MISSION
Our Core Mission
To create a stable world through reforming and competing with what exists today.
Reforming Relationships
Reforming the relationship between private individuals and the legal sector of Norwegian society.
Empowering Individuals
Empowering private persons by closing the knowledge gap between them and the legal services industry.
Reducing Perverse Incentives
Reducing the competitive advantage of perverse profit incentives.
HOW WE ACHIEVE THIS
Effective Advisory
We know the law well enough to be able to advise clients in terms they can understand. We work diligently through your factual circumstances so you can have base line competence about your own affairs.
Non-Predatory Pricing
Traditional pricing rewards time, not outcomes. Our pricing is based on intensity — not hours spent. Clients pay for the work, not the process. This makes early engagement possible and removes incentives for unnecessary complexity.
Health-Focused Legal Assistance
Most legal services begin once a problem has already developed. Our focus is on keeping clients out of those situations.
Proactive Membership Programme
Legal issues often begin as uncertainty within relationships and can be addressed before they escalate. This reduces conflict, cost, and unnecessary formal disputes.
Membership allows us to follow changes as they happen, identify risk early, and adjust before problems arise. This turns legal assistance from reactive support into ongoing management of stability.
SERVICES
Membership is there to promote continuity and active use of our services. The more you use the service, the more you get out of it.
Non-members will be one-off services, we won't keep your information after the work is done. It costs money to house and maintain and secure information and defeats the purpose of the continuity aspect of membership.

Continuity and Preventive Oversight
Membership establishes an ongoing legal relationship. We begin with onboarding. This involves interviewing you and mapping the key legal components of your current real relationships.
You receive a structured overview of your position: where you may be exposed to risk, what actions may be worth considering, and which areas require attention over time.
This functions as a form of preventive oversight. Not in the sense of constant intervention, but in maintaining clarity about how your situation develops and where adjustments may become necessary.
Membership then provides continuity. You have access to us as your situation evolves — not only when problems arise, but when changes are being considered.
Membership includes
Initial onboarding assessment
Access to clarification consultations *
Preferred service pricing
* Clarification consultations are free and require no more than providing a member with clarification about a particular subject or something we have covered together. If our assistance requires us to hold a proper consultation with a client, we will require this be done at our discretion. We will however always ensure that this discretion is objectively justified.

CONSULTATIONS – WE THINK WITH YOU
"Most people do not experience their lives in 'areas of law.' You do not wake up thinking about employment law or immigration law. You experience your job, your housing, your visa status, your partner, your business, your children. These are relationships."
The legal system regulates those relationships through multiple, overlapping frameworks. As a result, what appears to be a single issue is often not a single issue.
Losing a job, for example, is not just about employment. It can affect immigration status, housing, financial commitments, and family stability. One change can shift several legal relationships at the same time.
Most legal services approach this by separating problems into categories. This service does not.
Consultations are structured sessions where we work through your situation as it actually exists. We identify the relevant facts, clarify what is happening, and map how different parts of your life are connected.
When one relationship changes, we assess how that change moves through the others. The purpose is not to teach you legal doctrine or turn you into your own lawyer. It is to give you a clear understanding of consequences before you act.
Consultations are useful when:
-
You are entering a new relationship (employment, housing, business, or family)
-
You are considering a decision with legal implications
-
You need clarity before taking the next step

ASSESSMENTS – WE THINK FOR YOU
Assessments involve structured legal analysis. Unlike consultations, these are not exploratory conversations. They involve applying relevant legal frameworks to your full factual situation and delivering a clear, structured output.
The focus is not just on identifying issues, but on evaluating them — systematically.
Assessments may take different forms, depending on the situation. In some cases, this means reviewing an application for residency and identifying weaknesses, risks, or inconsistencies before submission. In others, it involves analysing a contractual relationship — not just the document itself, but how the relationship actually functions in practice.
This may include housing arrangements, relationships between spouses or cohabitants, testamentary structures, shareholder dynamics, or agreements between commercial and consumer parties.
Assessments are also used when a decision needs to be evaluated before it is made. In those situations, we carry out a comprehensive legal and factual analysis to understand the consequences, risks, and available alternatives.

GROUP SESSIONS
Group sessions are either provided on our initiative or at the request of a customer. These are practical sessions focused on real-life situations people commonly face in Norway.
(i) Concept sessions
They are designed to help you understand what to expect, what your responsibilities are, and where people typically make mistakes.
- Problems in an employment relationship
- Immigration and residence requirements
- Buying a home and what to look out for
- Understanding tenancy rights and obligations
The goal is not to overwhelm you with legal theory. It is to give you realistic guidance so you can approach important decisions with confidence.
(ii) Skills sessions
Where we apply legal concepts and deliver a structured approach to things like:
All will be specific to a legal area or category. Each skills session has a prerequisite requirement for having attended a concept session within the subject area.
For example, if you are wanting to attend a skills session for drafting a samboeravtale, you will have to have attended a concept session covering agreements, property ownership, and marital/cohabitant relationships.
Our initiative vs yours
Sometimes, a member will present a problem scenario that is applicable to others as well. Others will therefore benefit from the advice given in such a session, and the member with the question will benefit from having this consultation covered by the scheme.
